Dan Nelson has been pastor of First Baptist Church of Camarillo since 1984.
Pastor Nelson has a strong desire to see people come to faith in Christ, get baptized, and grow in Christian discipleship. He is an evangelistic pastor known for his defense of the Bible and Conservative Christian principles. Pastor Nelson's first love is preaching and teaching the Bible.

Bob is a long time retired pastor who pastured Nyland Acres Community Church for 31 years in Oxnard. Bob works with our senior adult ministry, giving a devotional every month. He also fills in on Sunday nights for Pastor Dan and giving rich Bible teaching that is helpful to those who are involved in our program their.
Bob and Anna are mainstays at the church and have been involved in Christian ministry for decades. You will find in Bob, a rich heritage in the Lord and a close walk with God through all of these years.
To know more about the senior ministry, both Bob Carpenter and Bob Erbe work with our senior adult ministry which features a monthly potluck banquet eating out time which is usually the last Friday at noon of each month.
Bill Milton has served as Minister of Youth for the last 6 years in our congregation. Prior to coming to this position, he was the youth minister at First Baptist Church of El Rio where he served there several years also. Bill is a native of the area and his lovely wife, Lorrie, have three boys that keep them busy.
In addition to Bill’s position as youth minister at First Baptist Church, he also teaches math at Fremont Middle School in Oxnard. Bill has taught in this position for over a decade. Bill also has a Masters degree in Education from Pepperdine as well as a Masters degree from the University of California in Santa Barbara. Bill became a Christian at the Oxnard Baptist Temple and through the efforts of the Baptist Student Union, got back involved in the Christian ministry and service.
The youth ministry consists of Sunday school at 9:15 a.m., a Friday night Bible study time and praise/worship
First Baptist Church is fortunate to have a competent minister of music in the person of Tim King. Tim has recently come to this position after serving in an extended period of being the choir director and interim minister of music.
You will find that Tim’s direction in the church as being very competent and helpful for us to be led into an attitude of worship and praise during these times.
When you come to our church, you will find a friendly face up there directing the music and you will love to be a part of the music program that you are so inclined and even feel the slightest bit led to explore this area of ministry for yourself or family.
Deacons are an important part of any church life. Our 2007-2008 deacons are Mario Quinonez, Jarrad Karyan, Don Chandler, Doug Brumage (chairman), Rick Soares, Bob Erbe (chairman), and Greg Otto (secretary). Our deacons are available for ministry to church families and explaining the faith to seekers.
Church Secretary : Amy Cranage
This lovely young lady grew up in our church and has served as our church secretary for a total of almost four years now. She has a very good knowledge of all the programs and ministries of our church and is easily accessible by phone and through the computer. Amy has excelled in the computer programming. She is currently a student at Oxnard Community College and does a wonderful job in design and layout.
You will find in Amy somebody who is personable and wants to help you in any way that she can. She is a very competent person and she is Max’s mother, who makes her a very important person to a lot of people around here.
